Puffed Rice Bars ~ From Vegetate, Vegan Cooking & Food Blog

“Rice is great if you’re really hungry and want to eat two thousand of something.”  Mitch Hedberg

This irresistible rice square recipe is free of the corn syrup-laden marshmallows usually used, and instead calls for the mellower sweeteners maple syrup and brown rice syrup. Truth be told, we used agave nectar instead of the maple syrup listed in the recipe because I prefer it’s milder flavor in dishes that I don’t want to have a strong maple syrup taste. These turned out golden, gooey, sweet, light, and crunchy, and sent me straight to Happyland.

Rice Fact: Rice is the staple food for more than 3 billion people who eat it everyday.

    • Helloooooo Thomas, and thank you! :) It’s great to hear from you and I hope you are well, too. We’ve made these a few times now and they are really yummy. They are light as air so you can really eat a lot of them… at least I can, ha ha! ;)
